Who Does Miley Cyrus Think She Is?
Trying to navigate the internet today will be completely impossible to do without first watching this new train wreck of a music video from Miss Cyrus. I didn't succumb to it until just several minutes ago. Just watch it, you know you want to, and then move on with the rest of your day where you can ponder where the world is going to.
Music videos don't have as much relevance anymore after the birth of MTV and then the subsequent death of my after school babysitter Total Request Live (those were the days), though artists are still cranking them out (Side note: I use the term "artist" lightly when referring to Miley Cyrus). Her new video for the song, "Can't Be Tamed" definitely screams Disney Channel star no more.
There's really not a whole lot to say about the video itself; Miley is trying to be taken more seriously so she prances around dressed as a bird and rocking a scary face? It's really not as edgy as I think she would like it to seem and could even be said that it's boring for the hype it was given. Been there, done that, and Britney did it better. The actual song too, well, that's a whole other discussion.
Lets not kid ourselves though, at least it's not as awful as that piece of trash music video released earlier this week by another artist trying to reinvent themselves; Christina Aguilera. Man, no words. Caution: that video cannot be unseen once its watched.
So, it gets to the part of the post where you make a decision: To watch or not to watch?
Head over to the blog, that I check first every morning over the news or email, to watch the video: DLISTED.
