Trailer Wars: Silence Is Golden

Overwhelmed: the word that has been swirling around in my head for the last couple of weeks.

In order to bounce back from my slightly moody, non-motivated experience, I wanted to do a little post about a classy upcoming release.

Anything classy immediately lifts this gals spirits, so I say, "Treat Yo Self" to a fantastic movie trailer. It may not be fine leather goods, but could be even better.

With all the fall movie festivals, and build up to the Oscars, there are a ton of flicks I am anxious to see in the months to come, but my choice for today is unique, special, and something I have been meaning to talk about for a while.

Sailing with critical success and awards from one movie festival to the next, The Artist will be ushering the movie viewers of 2011 into the age of Chaplin and Keaton; in those days, silent movies were all the rage and, really, all that was possible.

In a world where 3D is the new norm, it is really inspired to see the old standard of silent film making made modern.

Our beloved tradition of movies began where it was possible for an entire story to be understood by a single look or embrace. Now the ability to hear the talking is nice, but going back to where it all began feels like a perfect tribute to the history of film.

All the bells and whistles may bring home more box office dough, but they are not always necessary. (However, do not hold back in anyway on Alvin and The Chipmunks: Chip-Wrecked. That mess definitely needs to be in 3D.)

Look For The Artist, playing at a theater near you starting November 23rd.
